About Us

1954. A new industrial unit is born. Bhargab Engineering Works. Stewarded by Late Pranatosh Kumar Sen, the company with a handful of workers started manufacturing Rotary and Semi-Rotary Hand Pumps which are widely and almost exclusively used today in the shipyards throughout India.

In the 60s, the company began to develop high precision spares for different packing machines which are in great demand.

In the 70s came the big break. The company went into manufacturing of sophisticated Tea Blending Machines, Tea Cleaning Machines, Tea Flavouring Drum. These machines were readily accepted by the industry. Encouraged by the favourable response from the tea industry in India, the company increased its production capacity and there was a rapid expansion of our activities. Today we are the leaders in India and among the best in the world in this field.

Gradually, we began to explore the overseas markets. In the 80s, we took a big leap forward and started exporting our Tea Blending and Packing Systems. Our Plants are in use today in several countries over there continents - Asia, Africa and Europe.

We also execute any type of Heavy & Precision Job Works. Our factory is equipped with all requisite machineries. Our main unit is spread over more than 70,000 sq.ft. including plant floor space of approximately 45,000 sq.ft. in the heart of the industrial zone in Howrah, once known as Ruhr of Bengal. Our second unit in a sprawling 1,45,000 sq.ft. area with a covered area of another 45,000 sq.ft. is situated in a rapidly developing industrial zone in the outskirts of the town. In our two units together we have at present about 250 people as our staff. With the land remaining unutilised so far and other facilities at our command, we hope to generate further employment and look forward to a brighter future.
